The internet lights up with excitement as the Wireless Stage Festival kicks off today, July 11th, and runs through to July 13th. This year, Afrobeat artists; Burna Boy, Odumodublvck, Darkoo and a few others will proudly be showcasing the genre loud and clear. It’s an exciting event packed with different vibes and a mix of talent. The wireless stage festival takes place in Finsbury Park, London and this year’s event marks its 20th anniversary.

The Performing Afrobeat Singers Reacts  to Performing at Wireless Festival

The Afrobeat singer Odumodublvck delivers high-energy performances and bold fusion of genres, which set him apart in the music scene. When organizers of the wireless stage festival announced him as one of the performing artists at Wireless Festival 2025, his reaction was nothing short of gratitude and hype.

He gave a big shoutout to Drake, thanking him for the co-sign that helped put him on the global stage. That wasn’t all; he let fans in on just how much this moment meant to him. Odumodublvck shared how watching Skepta perform at Wireless years ago gave him chills, and now, being on that same stage felt like a big moment.  He also hyped the presence of another Afrobeat giant, Burna Boy, and showed how excited he is.

However, Darkoo, an Afrobeat singer who rose to fame with her breakout single “Gangsta” and earned a nomination for Best Diaspora Afrobeat Artist at The Headies Award in 2022, showed her excitement as one of those performing on the wireless stage festival.

Afrobeat Artists Who Have Performed at Wireless Festival Over the Years

Wizkid, a popular Afrobeat singer and songwriter, began recording at the age of eleven and has been performing on stage ever since. He is the only artist to have performed three times at the Wireless Festival, in 2013, 2017, and 2022 respectively headlining the last one. During the most recent event, he performed his song “Mood” making the event more exciting. 

Davido, who is also a well-known Afrobeat singer and songwriter, performed at the Wireless Stage Festival, delivering an exciting set that included “Dami Duro”, “Aye”, “Assurance”, and other favorite tracks. It was one of the biggest highlights of the festival.

Another Afrobeat singer and rapper, Rema, also took the stage at the Wireless Festival in July 2024. He performed his favourite tracks like “Soweto”, “Dumebi”, and “Benin Boys” alongside Shallipopi.

Asake, a prominent Afrobeat singer in 2024, was among the artists who performed at the Wireless Festival. He brought extra excitement to the stage by performing “Happiness” with Gunna, a song they created together.
