BNXN’s Inspiration Behind The Tracks In ‘Captain’

During a conversation with Apple Music, BNXN shared the inspiration behind some tracks in Captain
For “I Alone”, one of the standout tracks on the Captain album. Produced by UK beatmaker Rymez, the song has an energy that instantly reminds him of high school days and the vibes of the early 2000s Black Eyed Peas. However, beyond the sound, the song dives into something deeper: BNXN’s personal journey and the solitude that often accompanies it. As he put it, “I Alone” is a reminder to himself of who he is, a powerful, self-aware introduction to his identity and story.
Then, for “Jies,” BNXN explained that “Jies” is short for “ju idi e seyin,” a phrase inspired by something Burna Boy once said in his song “Turn Up” with LeriQ and Phyno. While that track had a party vibe, BNXN wanted to put his own spin on it. The song, produced by Young Soul, a talented UK producer, is all about good vibes. BNXN paints a scene of being in the club, feeling confident, and trying to get a girl’s attention, telling her “Your boyfriend could not level up to me, because I’m chilling. I’m chilling in the highest manner and I want you to join me. So, let’s dance.”
BNXN went further to mention the reasons behind other tracks on Captain.
