A recent video from the artist’s latest U.S. performance is gaining traction online, drawing both praise and criticism from fans across social media.
Wearing an open patterned shirt and belted black trousers, Adekunle Gold took the stage at BlastFest in Seattle on July 19, 2025, performing his hit track “High.” The Nigerian artist, popularly known as AG Baby, was one of the headliners at the event, which is an annual Seattle-based festival that celebrates Black artistry across genres.

The show took place on an open-air platform with fans pressed up to the barricades and their phones raised as they sang along. In a fan-captured video posted by @mediapizzazz, Gold can be seen moving across the stage as smoke bursts rise behind him and the crowd echoes his lyrics at full volume.

Despite the crowd’s enthusiasm, not all reactions online were positive. Some viewers questioned the vocal delivery and energy. “I’m not moved poor performance [sic],” one person wrote shortly after the clip went up.

Another asked, “Artists don’t sing at concerts anymore? What’s now the point? [sic]” A third added, “Na to hype and jump lol 😂,” suggesting the performance leaned more on atmosphere than live vocals.

Still, others applauded his energy and stage presence. “AG Baby be baddest performer normally!🔥🔥🔥 i love him for the energy he always puts [sic] on for his performances—NO DULLING ON HIS STAGE CRAFT! 👏🏾🔥” one fan posted.

Echoing that enthusiasm, one viewer commented, “He’s performing and crowd are singing 💯 [sic],” while another simply wrote, “See Energy.” A different netizen added, “This is dope.!”
Originally released in 2021, “High” features fellow Nigerian star Davido and blends Afro-fusion with upbeat party pop. The single quickly became a staple in Gold’s discography and also topped Apple Music Nigeria’s Hot 100 chart multiple times.
Outside the music spotlight, Gold is also championing healthcare access in Nigeria. Through his foundation, he recently launched 5 Star Care — a free health insurance program for 1,000 individuals living with sickle cell anemia in Lagos.
The initiative is in partnership with the Lagos State Health Scheme Management Agency (LASHMA), Sickle Cell Management Initiatives (SAMI), and the Lagos State Ministry of Health. You can read more about it here.
