About Trickle Media
Trickle Media is an Afrobeats and African culture platform covering music, entertainment, artists, releases, trends, and stories from Ghana, Nigeria, the UK, and the wider African diaspora.
We are building a growing media platform for fans, creatives, and industry voices who care about African music and entertainment. As a Content Contributor, you will have the opportunity to develop your writing, publish work under your name, build your portfolio, and contribute to a vibrant music and culture movement.
Responsibilities
- Pitch and write articles across Trickle Media’s core content areas, including entertainment news, music releases, artist features, interviews, reviews, lists, and opinion pieces.
- Cover topics related to Afrobeats, Afro-rap, Afro-drill, Highlife, Afro-pop, Ghanaian entertainment, and wider African music culture.
- Stay up to date with new releases, industry news, social media trends, and cultural conversations.
- Research stories carefully, fact-check information, and credit sources correctly.
- Work through Trickle Media’s content calendar to track article ideas, drafts, feedback, and publishing progress.
- Respond to editorial feedback and make revisions where required.
- Help maintain Trickle Media’s tone, quality standards, and publishing consistency.
- Help promote published articles and engage with audiences across social media where relevant.
Requirements
- Passion for music, entertainment, and African culture.
- Strong writing ability, with good grammar, structure, and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Afrobeats, Ghanaian entertainment, or African music culture is strongly preferred.
- Ability to research accurately and avoid speculation, especially when covering sensitive stories or rumours.
- Creativity and confidence in pitching original content ideas.
- Strong time management and ability to meet agreed deadlines.
- Comfortable receiving constructive feedback and making edits to improve your work.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently in a remote environment.
- Willingness to use free resources provided by Trickle Media or your own resources to complete your writing.
Nice to Have
- Previous writing, blogging, journalism, or content creation experience.
- Existing knowledge of African music scenes, artists, labels, events, or fan communities.
- Interest in interviews, reviews, artist profiles, or music journalism.
- Awareness of social media trends within African music and entertainment.

Please Note
This is currently a voluntary contributor role. It is best suited for emerging writers, students, creatives, or music enthusiasts looking to build a published portfolio, gain editorial experience, and grow within African music and entertainment media.
There are no required meetings for this role. Work will be coordinated remotely through Trickle Media’s content calendar, and feedback will be provided on submitted drafts where needed.
As Trickle Media grows, there may be future paid or full-time opportunities for consistent, high-performing contributors.
