If you have been following Temi Otedola and Mr Eazi since their three-country wedding last year, you already know this couple does nothing in half measures. The pregnancy has been the same story.
Between an elegant baby shower held abroad and a candid podcast episode on How Far that got people talking, the couple have given their audience a close look at what this season of their lives actually looks like.
The Baby Shower
Temi shared clips from her baby shower on TikTok, giving followers a glimpse into a private gathering held abroad. The event was intimate and attended only by close family and friends. Her sisters, DJ Cuppy and Tolani Otedola, were both present, and the theme of the shower gave fans their first real hint about the baby’s gender. Going by the decorations and colour choices, it appears the couple are expecting a boy.
DJ Cuppy, who had already reacted to the pregnancy announcement with “I’m going to be an auntyy,” was visibly excited throughout the celebration. The videos showed a relaxed, warm gathering where Temi’s baby bump was on full display as the family prepared to welcome a new member.
How the Pregnancy Was Discovered
The pregnancy itself came as a surprise, and the timing made it all the more memorable. Temi revealed in an interview with People magazine that she found out she was expecting about two and a half weeks into their honeymoon in Tokyo at the end of 2025.
“We found out I was pregnant about two and a half weeks into our honeymoon in Tokyo. One day, while we were walking around the city, I knew I wasn’t feeling well and I was getting carsick. Then we had dinner at an Italian restaurant one night, and I couldn’t eat the pasta or any of the food,” she explained.
The honeymoon was a two-month digital detox across South Korea and Japan, designed to help the couple decompress after an intense year of wedding celebrations spread across Monaco, Dubai, and Iceland.
Temi also opened up about the first trimester, describing it as physically demanding. “I love how pregnancy forces you to slow down,” she told People, reflecting on how the experience changed her pace of life.
Nine Doctors Across Different Countries
This is the part of the podcast that got everyone talking. During a recent episode of How Far, Mr Eazi and Temi revealed that nine doctors across different countries have been involved in monitoring the pregnancy. The reactions online ranged from amazement to jokes about the medical bill.
Mr Eazi explained the reasoning behind it on the podcast. “Why exactly do we see nine doctors? Nine doctors, to give you options. Not just that, because we didn’t know where we were going to be. Which country? We didn’t know which country we were going to decide on. I wanted Japan.”
The couple’s lifestyle means they move between countries regularly, and at the point they discovered the pregnancy, they genuinely could not determine where the baby would eventually be born. Consulting doctors across multiple countries gave them consistent medical coverage regardless of where they ended up. Each doctor was essentially a backup plan for a different location.
The nine doctors also allowed them to compare medical approaches in different countries before making a final decision. It is an unusual arrangement by most standards, but for a couple whose wedding spanned three countries and whose honeymoon covered two, it fits.
The Japan Debate
One of the lighter moments from the podcast came when Mr Eazi admitted he had been looking into Japan as a possible country for the birth, and had even started researching Japanese names for the baby.
Temi’s response was immediate. “By the way, he’s also been looking at Japanese names, and I’m like, no, absolutely not.”
It is a small moment, but it captures something real about how the two of them operate together. The email communication style discussed in an earlier episode of their podcast, and now this exchange about Japanese baby names, paint a picture of two very different personalities working out how to meet in the middle.
The AI Twins Rumour
Temi also used the podcast to address something that had been circulating online. An AI-generated image had made it appear as though she was expecting twins, and the image spread widely enough that she felt the need to respond.
She admitted that the image surfaced before she had publicly confirmed the pregnancy, which meant she ended up addressing the twins’ rumour while simultaneously confirming that she was actually pregnant. It was not how she planned to share the news, but it happened.

What Makes This Different
Most celebrity couples keep pregnancy details private until they are ready to present a neat, finished story. Temi and Mr Eazi have chosen a different approach with How Far. They are sharing the process as it happens, including the awkward parts, the disagreements, and the decisions that do not always make immediate sense to people on the outside.

Together, they give a fuller picture of what this chapter actually looks like for one of Nigeria’s most closely watched couples.
