Henry Cavill Becomes a Father: A New Role for the Man of Steel

Henry Cavill and his girlfriend, Natalie Viscuso, have welcomed their first child together. The couple, who have been dating since 2021, were spotted in Australia with an infant stroller, confirming the happy news. Cavill is currently filming a new project there, and the couple has remained private about their personal life.

The actor first announced they were expecting in April at the premiere of The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, expressing excitement about fatherhood. He credited his parents as his biggest inspiration for parenting. While they keep their relationship low-key, Cavill shared glimpses of their home life, revealing their love for kitchen dance parties—though wine has been off the table since Viscuso’s pregnancy.

Cavill spent Father’s Day setting up a nursery, humorously asking for parenting tips while showcasing a Warhammer-themed space. Reflecting on fatherhood years ago, he expressed a desire to be an active, fit dad. Now, at 41, he’s stepping into that long-anticipated role, embracing both the excitement and responsibilities of being a first-time parent.

Rick Ross recently visited Cape Town, making the most of his stay with sightseeing, whale watching, and music projects. The rapper also connected with South African artist Usimamane, whom he had previously collaborated with on the song Dangerous II. The two shot a music video for the track during Ross’s trip.

Usimamane, who featured Ross on his deluxe album 20th: Days Before Maud, expressed gratitude for the collaboration. He shared behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot, generating excitement among fans. Music industry figures, including gamma Africa’s Thabo Ngwenya, celebrated the project, calling it a major milestone.

Sarkodie Claps Back at Critics Over Controversial Post

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has responded to criticism over a social media post that sparked backlash. After sharing a message about returning to Gari soakings—a staple dish—following President Mahama’s inauguration, many interpreted it as a political jab. The post quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions.

When fans urged him to clarify his stance, Sarkodie remained defiant. He responded by posting a video of Rev. Obofour stating that “only fools believe what they hear,” implying that people should think critically before jumping to conclusions. His reaction stirred even more debate, with some defending him while others accused him of avoiding accountability.

Sarkodie, known for keeping a reserved public image, rarely engages in online controversies. However, his response has intensified discussions about his political views and the influence of celebrities in shaping public opinion.

Portable Accuses Davido of Fake Life and Bad Advice

Nigerian singer Portable has publicly accused Davido of living a “fake life” and misleading him about signing a record deal. In a viral video, Portable claimed that Davido advised him to join Empire Records instead of Sony Music, only for him to later discover that Davido himself was signed to Sony.

Portable also alleged that Davido exaggerates his wealth, stating that he inflates the prices of his purchases. The controversy stems from a past encounter in Atlanta, where Portable felt Davido’s advice was not in his best interest. He suggested that Davido might have hidden motives to limit his success, especially in competing for major awards.

The two artists previously clashed online after their Atlanta meeting, fueling speculation about their strained relationship. While Davido has yet to respond, Portable’s comments have reignited debates about authenticity in the Nigerian music industry.

MOBO Fringe Festival to Spotlight UK’s North East Talent

As Newcastle prepares to host the MOBO Awards for the first time, local artists are looking forward to new opportunities. The MOBO Fringe Festival, a five-day event leading up to the main awards, aims to highlight talent from the North East and provide industry insights for emerging musicians.

Singer-songwriter Sisi, who has performed for BBC Introducing, believes the festival will bring much-needed attention to the region’s diverse music scene. She emphasized how Newcastle often misses out on major opportunities, but this event could open doors for local artists.

Newcastle City Council, alongside MOBO and partners like Generator and Glasshouse, is organizing workshops and mentorship programs to help young musicians break into the industry. With the awards taking place on February 18 at the Utilita Arena, all eyes will be on Newcastle’s vibrant music scene.
