Naira Marley – Fighting To Get Back To The Top With “Pxy Drip”

The “Coming” crooner seems determined to get back into the spotlight and acceptance by Nigeria. Afrobeats lovers. He comes forth with “Pxy Drip”.

The tunes of the song are catchy and fast paced, eliciting dance moves from even the most rigid person. A mixture of Afrobeats and Amapiano, the song is an ode to sex, typically Naira Marley.

The sexual nature of the song is another avenue for conservatives to tackle Naira Marley. They tag his music as too vulgar to be put on the airwaves. They also are of the school of thought that Naira Marley and his music are a bad influence on the Nigerian youths. His lyrics do little to hide the sexualized accusations, especially with words like…

“Love that p****y grip

Make that p****y drip

Bounce pon di c***y and do dada

Whine your body and go down low

What’s that? Just like That bazuka (bazuka booty)

Idi gbangban (big booty)

Idi gbongbon (Shaky booty

)Idi gbangban (big booty)

Idi kerekere (chunky booty)

Idi fakia (wide behind)

This school of thought argues that singing an overly sexualized song isn’t the right way for the singer to seek back the limelite.

More lyrics like:

Olomi lomare say she like my shi (my girl is who’d get tired, say she like my sh*t)Iwo ni mobaku (Iwo ni mobaku) [I’ll stick with you till death]

Wo idi yen bonshey gbon (see how that booty shakes)

Won idi yen wo idiyen boshey ro (soft life ) (see that booty, see how soft it is)

Motin wa e lati ana otunde tan otun sofun mi pe odaro (k’ronbe) [I’ve been looking for it since yesterday, she comes over and tells me good night]

The lyrics presented above, shows Naira Marley as one of the most dirty talking Afrobeats artistes in the country. Conservatives believe that Naira Marley coming in with a subtle, more socially acceptable song is his best bet to warm his way into everybody’s heart once again.

For liberals, they are of the opinion that good music shouldn’t be held back by some morality or code. Very much not some mistakes one has made in the past.

They believe that Naira Marley has still not been convicted of any crime. They also believe that he is bringing in a club banger that should be enjoyed as much as possible. This is reflected in his song’s promising position as number 18 on the Apple music Naija top 100.
