Lady Gaga’s Chess-Themed Spectacle Stuns Coachella Crowd

Lady Gaga set the music and chess worlds ablaze with a dramatic performance at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. During the second weekend’s events, she took the stage on a giant chessboard to perform her 2008 hit “Poker Face”, dressed in black and facing off against a mysterious white queen. Her dancers embodied chess pieces (with no kings in play) as the match unfolded, symbolizing a battle between her past and present artistic personas.

The high-energy performance was one of the most anticipated of the year, as Gaga prepares for her upcoming “Mayhem Ball” tour. The chessboard, an unconventional seven-by-seven grid with 49 squares instead of the standard 64, added a surreal touch to the spectacle. Every corner square was white, and the queens started on black squares—breaking traditional chess rules but fitting the avant-garde theme.

The audience was mesmerized as Gaga delivered “Poker Face”, a global hit that has sold over 14 million copies. The performance blended theatrics, choreography, and music, reinforcing her reputation as a boundary-pushing entertainer.

Davido and Wife, Chioma Take a Break From Childbirth

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that he and his wife, Chioma, are pausing their family expansion plans. Speaking on the latest episode of “Ride Along With Darryl”, Davido explained that Chioma deserves a break after having three children. He emphasized her desire to focus on personal ventures, including opening a restaurant and launching her own line of spices.

The couple, who welcomed twins in 2023 following the tragic loss of their first son, Ifeanyi, in 2022, are prioritizing Chioma’s career aspirations. Davido stated, “I don’t want more children now… She needs to get out to work.” Meanwhile, the singer is branching into filmmaking, with plans to invest in several movie projects this year.

Davido also teased his acting ambitions, citing his experience in music videos like “Jowo” and “Nwa Baby”. He acknowledged challenges in Africa’s film industry, saying, ““The film space right now in Africa is going bankrupt,”” but remains optimistic about his upcoming ventures.

Medikal Fires Back at Comparisons to Other Rappers

Ghanaian rapper Medikal has lashed out at fans comparing him to other artists, declaring himself unmatched in the industry. In a fiery tweet, he warned against drawing parallels between him and any rapper in Ghana, Africa, or beyond, specifically naming Kwesi Arthur. “Never ever compare me to any artiste… Don’t even dare, are you guys f**king mad?” he wrote.

The tweet, believed to be part of a promotional push for his new music video “Welcome to Africa”, sparked mixed reactions. While some fans defended his stance, others questioned his claims, with one user stating, “You’re not there yet bro.” Despite the backlash, Medikal’s supporters praised his confidence, with one calling him “Topper top!! Too stubborn.”

Interestingly, Medikal and Kwesi Arthur have previously collaborated on hits like “Grind Day Remix” and “Different”. The rapper’s outburst highlights the competitive nature of the industry, even among former collaborators.

Tyla Channels Britney Spears’ Iconic 2001 VMA Look at Coachella

South African singer Tyla paid homage to pop legend Britney Spears with her Coachella 2025 outfit, mirroring Spears’ iconic 2001 MTV VMAs ensemble. Performing on the Outdoor Stage, Tyla wore a green and purple bra top with bedazzled low-rise shorts—similar to Britney’s look—but swapped the famous snake for zebra-print boots.

Spears’ original outfit, worn during her “I’m a Slave 4 U” performance, featured a live python draped over her shoulders. Tyla’s stylish tribute was one of many surprises at this year’s Coachella, including Ty Dolla $ign’s emotional inclusion of his incarcerated brother, Big TC, via a recorded performance enhanced by a live choir.

Margot Robbie Spotted Enjoying Family Time With Husband and Newborn

Margot Robbie was seen basking in the Australian sun during an Easter Sunday beach outing with her husband, Tom Ackerley, and their newborn son. The “Barbie” star, 34, looked radiant in a black crop top and red athletic shorts as she strolled barefoot along the shoreline.

This marked the first public appearance of the trio since their son’s birth in October. Tom carried the baby in a sling while the couple sipped coffee and enjoyed the serene setting. An insider revealed that the pair, known for being homebodies, are “so happy” embracing parenthood after a long wait.

Robbie and Ackerley, who met on the set of “Suite Française” in 2013, married in 2016 and co-run production company LuckyChap Entertainment. Despite their high-profile careers, they’ve kept their son’s name private, cherishing their new life as a family of three.
