Chidimma Adetshina, a Miss South Africa contestant, withdrew from the competition amid a nationality controversy. Questions about her South African citizenship arose due to her Nigerian father.
A government investigation revealed that her mother may have committed identity theft to become a South African national. Though the investigation cleared Adetshina of any wrongdoing, she decided to withdraw from the pageant to protect herself and her family.
The 23-year-old law student – said she was born in Soweto, a township next to Johannesburg, and grew up in Cape Town she further gave details that her father was Nigerian and her mother was a South African of Mozambican descent.
Ghanaian Music Star, Sarkodie Pulls Out Of Planned Paris Concert Over Contractual Issues
Eagle Plug, Sarkodie’s management, announced the cancellation of the Ghanaian rapper’s scheduled performance at Station Afrique in Paris. The agency blamed the cancellation on the event organizer’s failure to fulfill contractual obligations despite repeated assurances.
Despite Sarkodie’s eagerness to perform, the situation left the team with no choice but to cancel the show, apologizing to disappointed fans on social media.
“We sincerely apologise to fans for this disappointment and hope to see you soon under better circumstances,” the statement read.
