Born in Lagos state on December 23, 1993, Teniola Apata, better known by her stage name Teni, made her first music debut with “Amen” while she was signed to Shizzi’s Magic Fingers Records.
Her breakthrough came with releasing the hit song “Askamaya,” which Nigerian musician Snazzy the Optimist later adapted as “Upgrade.”
On February 2, 2021, Teni disclosed on her Instagram page the title of her upcoming debut album, which she would call “WONDALAND”, and the anticipated release date. Over the course of two years, this album was recorded in London, New York City, Orlando, Ondo, Lagos, and Abuja.
